GlobalmatiX wins major customer for accident detection in car sharing

GlobalmatiX, a 100% subsidiary of Softing AG, has won an accident detection specialist as a new major customer focused on equipping fleet operators to detect accident damage.

For this purpose, GlobalmatiX will deliver more than 3,000 telematics boxes including multi-year service contracts in the current year. Further significant growth in demand is expected for 2022 and the coming years.

GlobalmatiX currently offers the broadest range of data acquisition, density and transfer security in the management of brand-independent large fleets "over the air". Dr. Wolfgang Trier, CEO of Softing AG: "GlobalmatiX is becoming a growth driver for Softing. With xTCU telematics and cloud, contactless and stationless fleet management 4.0 will be massively improved in the steadily growing market of carsharing and rental car companies. Particularly in car sharing, the high level of minor damage without attribution to the causer puts quite a strain on the profitability of the business model. Based on GlobalmatiX products, our customer has developed a solution for the market leader in car sharing that sets new standards."

GlobalmatiX expects to close more deals soon and has approximately quintupled the production volume for xTCU telematics for 2022 to over 40,000 systems.
